Experience the quiet beauty of Provence at La Fenice, where every detail is designed to make you feel at home.
La Fenice is located in the peaceful hilltop village of Montjustin, a hidden gem in the Luberon Regional Natural Park, known for its unspoiled landscapes, artistic heritage, and timeless Provençal charm. Guests love the quiet, authentic atmosphere of the village, with its cobbled lanes, panoramic views, and rich history—including the resting place of legendary photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson.
Despite its tranquility, Montjustin is ideally situated for exploring the best of Provence. We're just 1 hour from Aix-en-Provence, 1 hour 15 minutes from Marseille Provence Airport, and 1.5 hours from both Avignon and Arles, making day trips easy and rewarding. The region is filled with picturesque hilltop villages such as Gordes, Roussillon, Lourmarin, Ménerbes, and Bonnieux—all within short driving distance.
The area is also known for its vibrant local markets. The Saturday market in Apt is one of the largest and most colorful in the region, while Forcalquier’s Monday market offers a more traditional Provençal feel. Nearly every nearby village hosts a market during the week, perfect for sampling local produce, cheeses, wines, and artisanal goods.
Nature lovers will appreciate the many scenic walks and cycling routes accessible directly from the house, including parts of the GR4 trail, a historic path linking Manosque and Apt. Vineyards, lavender fields (especially stunning in June–July), and olive groves dot the landscape.
Dining options abound nearby, from casual village cafés to Michelin-starred restaurants in the Luberon. We’re happy to share our local favorites with guests looking for a true taste of Provence.
Whether you're here to unwind, explore, or both, La Fenice’s location offers the perfect blend of seclusion and accessibility—a peaceful base with endless possibilities just beyond the doorstep.
