The property is a 1812 silk-farm (Magnanerie), that boasts an independant small stone "Mazet" at the end of our garden next to the pool. In the main house, there is a bed and breakfast located in an ancient, vaulted, stone cave, typical of the area, which has its own terrace with a stone table and benches overlooking the garden. The room is a fresh (and thus a bit humid), elegant and quite unique space, as there is a rock showing through the stone wall behind the bed and in the shower. You will appreciate the coolness even during the most dire of heatwaves. Further away, is a 100m2 guest house with two large bedrooms on two floors, and huge, high-celing barn- and loft-like living room with stone walls and a big kitchen. Everything is set in a big, luxuriant and somewhat savage garden. Relaxed, bohemian country charm. Several outdoor eating and relaxing spaces with ancient wrought iron furniture. There is 11x3 meter pool, a sauna and a small gym.
We are a multilingual and multicultural family that spends its winters in Paris and summers in this beautiful area at the crossroads of Provence, Cevennes and Ardèche.
We are located in a small hamlet of the village of Lussan, recently voted as one of the "Most beautiful villages in France". Uzès is a 15 minute drive away, Goudargues 20 minutes, Barjac and the Pont du Gard 30 minutes, the city of Avignon with its Popal Palace, Orange with its antique Roman Theatre, Arles and Nïmes are all less than an hour away, as are the Ardèche canyons and caves. The beaches of Camargue, from Saintes-Marie de la Mer to la Grande Motte are a 1 1/2 hour drive.
