Your hosts have extensive local knowledge and are happy to advise you of where to go and what to do and there is lots of information and local guides in the gite for your perusal. La Maison des Etangs is the perfect base for either a quiet relaxing break in this idyllic setting or a full on action packed holiday with an abundance of activities and visitor attractions just minutes away.

Within walking distance we have both a friendly pub/restaurant and a traditional village bar and épicerie, with regular weekly visits from food trucks offering pizza and homemade burgers. We are also within easy reach of lots of local leisure facilities, including L'espace Hermeline at Bussière-Galant, Lac Plaisance at Saint-Hilaire-les-Place and Lac de Rouffiac, offering a great choice of water based activities. The leisure centre at Saint Yrieix La Perche has indoor and outdoor swimming pools with great facilities for children. Château de Jumilhac and Château de Bonneval are nearby and well worth a visit as are so many other historic French visitor sites. There are some great walking routes and signposted cycling routes in the lovely local French countryside which surrounds the gite.
