Located on the Normandy/Loire border our newly converted barn has been lovingly renovated to produce to 2 gites. Each gite is for 2 people, both being approx. 60m2 each covering two floors. Downstairs is an open plan sitting room, dining and kitchen area. With underfloor heating and a wood burner. Stairs lead to the bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom. The bedrooms each have vaulted ceilings with exposed oak beams. To enable you to have a fantastic nights sleep each bedroom has a Super King size bed. Though should you prefer a twin room, the bed can be split to create 2 single beds. The barns have been tastefully renovated to create modern accommodation without loosing the characteristics of the old barn. Throughout the barn original parts have been recycled, sanded and varnished to become features. Outside you will find yourself in a very rural location, near silent except for the sound of nature. Outside the barn is a patio terrace area to enjoy breakfast or an evening drink. A garden area is also available if you would like to soak up the sun, where a barbecue is available for guests to cook on. Surrounded by fields, where the cows are grazing to produce the milk for Norma
David and Helen Wootton moved to Mayenne, France in December 2019 with plans to renovate a barn on their property. Throughout 2020 and early 2021 the barn was renovated to create 2 luxurious gites, each for 2 people. Their aim was to produce luxury modern accommodation but keeping the character of the 150 year old Normandy barn. David had dreams of moving to France for many years, his love of France coming from his French mother. Born and bred in West Norfolk where his family are arable farmers, David operated his commercial photography business specialising in aerial and travel photography. Photography took him all over the world creating images for business clients, magazines and newspapers. Subjects included Pargliding from Mt.Kinabalu on Borneo, Pamplona Bull Run in Spain, Tigers in India, Portraits of Cuba, Royal Marine jungle warfare training in Belize to name a few. Helen also from West Norfolk, married David in 2008. Helen also has the travel bug having extensively travelled throughout Europe, Asia, South America and Australia. Keen on trekking she has walked the Great Wall of China, trekked to Angkor Wok in Cambodia and climbed up to Machu Picchu Peru. Her career
