La Verrerie de Guerlédan is very close to the Voie Verte. We enjoyed a delicious table d'hôte with our hosts Ian & Sue. We were able to safely store our bicycles overnight and enjoyed a comfortable night's sleep in this quiet and floral village.

Excellent breakfast and warm welcome from our hosts. Although not en suite, the toilet and bathroom were next door to the bedroom, and easily accessible. Easy parking on the road.

Ian and Sue welcome you to their chambre d'hôtes at La Verrerie de Guerlédan, 70 Rue Roc' Hell. Once the former village bakery and shop, now, the bakery is a glass boutique, where the old bread oven provides an attractive backdrop to the glass work on display. The shop is now the atelier where Sue produces her kiln formed glass work. You will be using some of her beautiful glass pieces during your stay and can buy souvenirs of your visit in the boutique. If you wish you can undertake a glass making course during your stay, beginners and people with some experience of glass are welcome. Please contact Sue in advance. You can see her contact details and her glass work on her website. People booking the Petit Doré or the Daoulas may also book an adjacent room, which can accommodate 2 people in single beds. The room suits additional family members or close friends with whom you would share shower room facilities. Please contact us for details.
We both enjoy welcoming people from all over the world to our home and do everything we can to help them enjoy their stay. We have travelled widely and appreciate that a warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere can make a big difference. Ian is an accountant and keen renovator, responsible, with Sue's help, for all the improvements made to 70 rue Roc'Hell! He is also an enthusiastic and very good cook, and enjoys preparing table d'hôtes for our guests. Sue is a glass artist and works in her atelier next to the house. She welcomes the guests and serves breakfast. Ian and Sue both endeavour to ensure that our guests receive a warm welcome and a have pleasant, comfortable stay.
The Lac de Guerlédan is the biggest lake in Brittany and is close by. Here you can undertake a multitude of watersports, enjoy lake side, woodland walks or just relax with a cold beer or glass of wine. Mountain bikers can enjoy their sport around the lake. The local cycle route, which is very near, used to be a railway, & is part of the Vélodyssée. It joins the Nantes-Brest canal, popular for cycling and walking. A varied terrain for road cyclists includes an opportunity to try the famous Mur-de-Bretagne which features regularly as a Tour de France finish. Local markets include Pontivy (Monday), Rostrenen & Quintin (Tuesday), Mur de Bretagne (Friday evenings in summer). Le Petit Marché de Bon Repos is on Sunday mornings from April to October, & is a delightful way to pass the time. The fantastic Brittany coast is easily close enough for a day trip and there are a number of beautiful and interesting medieval towns, abbeys, gardens, museums etc within a short drive. There are so many places to eat that the list would go on for ever! We have good restaurants within walking distance or we can provide evening meals here subject to advance notice. Please contact us for details.
