Le Cantou has been part of the local community for a long time. In the past it has been an auberge, a restaurant and a B&B. We love living in France and enjoy our lives in the tranquility of the French countryside. We love growing our own produce and have spent a lot of time renovating our 19th century home.

Le Cantou is a 19th Century old Auberge named after its large stone fireplace in the charming 'village fleurie' of Affieux. We offer two double rooms with their own individual style and a landscaped garden area with magnficent views over the Monedieres. We live onsite so are able to help with local recommendations for restaurants, shopping, sightseeing, sporting activities etc. **Please note that we have a dog who can be loud when he barks (not very often!) but he doesn’t go into the b&b at all. If you like dogs please let us know as he’s very friendly and would love to meet you!**

Affieux is a small village in the centre of France, and is located on the Millevaches plateau in the Millevaches regional natural park in Limousin. There is a 12th century church that you can visit and a 17th century chateau plus amazing views of the sunset and the Limousin landscape. Affieux is located 3km from the medieval town of Treignac which sits on the River Vezere. Treignac is regarded as 'une petite cite de caractere' (little city of character). Here you will discover a remarkable architectural and natural heritage: Old Bridge from the 13th century, churches and chapels, fountains, grain market, panoramic tower from the 15th century and half-timbered houses. The town is renowned for its white waters which make it a global canoe-kayak spot. There are many lakes within driving distance of the B&B and the nearest with facilities is Lac de Bariousses. which is the ideal destination for a relaxing or sporting day, with family or friends.
