Le Cazal sits south of the village of Manses in the beautiful Ariege with unspoilt views over countryside and rolling hills to the majestic Pyrenees. These views can be enjoyed from the gites and the 12m x 6m heated pool. The property is set in 95 acres of fields and woodland belonging to the owners. The medieval bastide town of Mirepoix, which offers a lively market, a good range of restaurants and cafes as well as supermarkets and other amenities, is just 8km from Le Cazal. The gites are well equipped with modern kitchens which include dishwashers and washing machines , large airy rooms and south facing patios.
We first fell in love with Le Cazal in 2005. Since then we have transformed it into a relaxing space for our guests to enjoy. We love the clean air, fantastic views and clear starry skies. Le Cazal is a perfect base for walking, cycling, mountain sports, sight seeing, historical tours, gastronomic tours and best of all, relaxing.
Mirepoix is close by but by no means the only charming town in the area. Foix offers a chateau and meandering streets, Carcassonne its famous castle or Cite, Toulouse, the rose city and home to Airbus. There are many pretty villages, each with its own weekly market offering local produce. Whether you want to walk, hike, skydive, ski, swim, sail, climb, cycle, canoe, kart, bowl, or just admire the views- it is all here within easy reach. The Mediterranean Sea is close enough for a day trip too.
