Hello, we adore hosting guests from around the world and enabling them to get the most from this stunning region. Nothing is too much trouble! We are always on hand to ensure that our guests have the very best holiday possible.

Property information

The gites are set in the grounds of the ancient Auberge de l'Arac, situated in a wooded valley on the banks of the River Arac. In the last century the building was used to make cheese and the gites are constructed in the old stable block. The gites are tastefully decorated in an eclectic style. Each has stunning views over the river and individual private gardens which are enclosed for the security of your dog. We encourage you to bring your dogs to enjoy some of the most amazing hikes and cycling routes in the Pyrenees. In summer, we are close to astonishing caves and sporting facilities such as kayaking, caving, climbing, paragliding and of course many hiking trails. In winter, we are close to a superb ski station (40 minutes), snow shoe trails and stunning scenery. We are just a few minutes drive from the UNESCO site of St Lizier with its astonishing cathedrals and beautiful architecture. We are within striking distance of the spa town of Alus les Bains and the medieval town of Mirepoix.

Neighbourhood information

We are close to the GR10, the trans-pyrenean walk. The market in Saint Girons is famous in the area providing over 200 producers and is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning through out the year. You will find smaller markets most days in the surrounding villages. In the summer you can sample village life as most weekends there is a fete with music, delicious food and other entertainment, we also hope to be able to provide a petanque pitch soon. Our onsite restaurant opened in August 2024 providing home made menus at mid day and in the evenings. This will include vegetarian offerings. Our aim is to be open all year round.
