Nestled on a forested hillside just 1.5 km south of Nyons, in the heart of the Drôme Provençale, Les Genestons is a beautifully restored 17th-century Mas (1690), lovingly renovated in 2015 for its first rental. This peaceful hideaway offers stunning panoramic views over the Eygues Valley and features: - 3 comfortable bedrooms for up to 7 guests - A spacious garden with shaded corners and open views - A refreshing swimming pool - A pétanque court for leisurely afternoons The housekeeper lives discreetly in a self-contained studio beneath the house and ensures the property is always well cared for. During the summer and Easter holidays, the owners may stay in a neighbouring house on a lower terrace level. Each home enjoys privacy with its own garden and no direct overlook. However, the swimming pool is shared between the two properties.
I am a Belgian Linguist. I currently live and work in Barcelona. All my life I have been an avid traveller. I was born and raised bilingually in Dutch and French in a multicultural family in Brussels. Having lived in a small country such as Belgium had at least one major advantage: it is so small that it was easy to get away from :-)
The Drôme Provençale is one of the most beautiful regions in France, and the town of Nyons (nicknamed little Nice) is known for its olives and its charming old town with its narrow streets, arcades and weekly markets on Thursday and Sunday. Protected from the Mistral wind it offers a very pleasant microclimate. In the East we find the massif des Barronies, in the West the plains of the Côte du Rhône, in the North the beginning of the Vercors massif and in the South the Mont Ventoux (30 min drive). - SNCF rail stations in Orange (45 km), Montélimar (50 km) and Avignon (75 km) have regular busses to Nyons. - Airports in Nîmes (110 km), Marseille (142 km) and Lyon (210 km).
