IMPORTANT NOTE: The property is managed by an agent. Bedding can be provided but guests can provide their own if they would prefer. Double beds are 140x190. Please bring your own towels. DIRECTIONS: The property is a 150 year old grange in a very natural setting. The grange is set back from the road, in a large field. The drive to the property is accessible by car, approximately 1km past Campan. Turn right before the house with large fir trees. Look for the 'Penstone Grange' sign. There are two large bedrooms with a double and single bed in each. One is ensuite, and there is a second bathroom upstairs. The third bedroom has a double bed and is much smaller, suitable for younger guests. The grange offers an open plan lounge/kitchen downstairs with two wood burners that keep the grange very warm in winter if used correctly. There is a third bathroom/shower downstairs. The grange is rustic and designed to compliment the location. Nature is on your doorstep. There is a shaded area outside for relaxing and taking meals in a natural setting. Nature can bring insects such as flies and mosquitos. Everything is done to reduce their impact. Our agent will contact you before you arrive to arrange your welcome and to show you around the grange.
We are sorry we are not available to meet you in person. We are certainly available for questions so do not hesitate. You will be met by our property manager who will contact you before you set off for your holiday and who will meet and greet you, and say good bye when check you out. She is local and available for questions in French. I am also available for questions by text.
The grange is one kilometre from the local village, and 5 km from a lively market town. Many fantastic hikes are available from the grange, and beautiful locations of a natural and historical nature very close by. Hiking, cycling and skiing are popular local activities. There are many activities for both adults and children. Ski hire and the ski bus for La Mongie are on your doorstep. The surrounding land is also ours but we have placed a fence around part of the garden for child safety and to encourage the deer to visit not too close to the house! Expect to hear cows, deer and foxes to break the peace of the countryside.
