The chateau sits imposingly on the banks of the River L’Isle, 5 minutes walk from the bustling French town of Saint Astier which boasts several restaurants as well as all the usual artisan shops. The village comes alive with many festivals in the summer months and every Thursday has one of the best markets in the area to buy your favourite foods for your evening meal or BBQ. The property has enclosed manicured gardens and a coach house with games room with pool table, table football, table tennis, boules and many more. Alternatively, guests can relax watching the river flow past while enjoying a drink of choice. The outdoor heated pool, new in 2020 comes complete with outdoor solar shower and pool WC. The main house is beautifully furnished throughout and has a large bedroom suite, 3 double bedrooms and a twin as well as 2 lounges with sat T.V. A modern kitchen with full amenities leads to a beautiful dining room. Al fresco dining/BBQ can be enjoyed on one of the many terraces overlooking the river. Bicycles can be used free of charge at users own risk in order to take advantage of the extensive cycle paths that start just outside the chateau- set off for the day to Perigueux, stopping at the many small cafés and restaurants along the way. Tennis, Canoeing and other outdoor pursuits are all available within a 5 minute walk. Bergerac airport is 40 minutes away and most of the northern French ferry ports are 7 hours away. Guest can also take the train from the village to Bordeaux in just 1 hour or visit Perigueux or Brive or many of the other villages along the way. The beautiful inland beach of Lac Jemaye is only 30 minutes drive where guests can enjoy free kayak hire and relax on the golden lake sands.
