Brand new property built in 2021 with modern chalet style furnishings and stunning panoramic mountain views from every window of the spacious open plan living area. The chalet is situated on the top of a south facing ridge in the idyllic perched village of Jarjayes above Gap. Three bedrooms (one double and two twins that can also be made into double beds), a bathroom with walk in shower, heated towel rail and large open plan living space with fully fitted and equipped kitchen, dining table and lounge area with sofas and flat screen TV. For summer stays there are a wide range of walks, road cycling and mountain biking straight from the door, the Serre Ponçon lake 25 mins away and Tallard Aerodrome 20 mins away. In winter there are several ski resorts, snow shoeing and other winter sports in close vicinity in winter.
We are outdoor lovers. Bernard is a high mountain guide and proposes a range of excursions including via ferrata, canyoning climbing, mountaineering and nature walks including bird watching in the summer and skiing, ski touring, ice climbing and snowshoeing in the winter. Sally is a keen cyclist and hiker and cross country skiing in winter.
Jarjayes is a quiet village perched on the top of a hill with a church, school, mayor's office and a charming, historic ruin, known as the trois chateau! There is a public recreation area with table tennis, pétanque, a multi sports pitch (basketball, 5 a side football) and children's play area. In the summer there is a small evening market every Tuesday selling local produce and the possibility to taste the local beer. There are a range of walks, bike rides, and horse riding from the village. You can spot wild boar, chamois, deer and if you are lucky, even wolves in the mountains around the village. There are also numerous birds including golden eagles for bird enthusiasts. The vibrant town of Gap is just 10 mins drive away, the Serre Ponçon lake is 20 mins drive away, Tallard Aerodrome is 20 mins away and the nearest ski resorts are 35 mins drive away. A 10 minute drive from the town of Gap. There is parking space for two cars.
