Our 300 year old refurbished cottage, Volets Verts, is situated in the sleepy village of Montauriol (47330) on the Dordogne and Lot et Garonne border, close to the town of Castillonnes. This is our holiday home, so you will find it well equipped and comfortable, with a private outdoor space and in peaceful surroundings. Please note that the stairs here are open tread and quite quirky so may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. The bathroom is situated on the ground floor. There is Wifi for emailing/streaming (no gaming please) TV available for streaming but no normal TV channels. The garden is fully enclosed. There is lots to see in the area as you are in the heart of the Medieval Bastide towns. Villereal and Eymet are around 15 minutes drive away. 30 mins to Bergerac.
I am Philippa. Along with my husband Allan we are experienced and friendly holiday home owners and have two properties in the UK and France. We hope you enjoy staying here as much as we do. We have added personal touches to make them home-from-home to ensure your stay is a comfortable one. . I love to travel and I speak English and French. I like animals, especially cats and dogs. I am sociable and considerate to others and am a non-smoker. I am a phone call away for any issues. We have a local contact too.
Our cottage is in the heart of Bastide Country, the fortified townships from Medieval times. Tons of things to see and do in the area, gastronomic food and beautiful countryside. Montauriol itself is a sleepy village which is extremely peaceful. There is a seasonal lunchtime restaurant within 3 minutes walk. Castillonnes is 5 minutes drive, where you will find with a range of shops, bars, restaurants and a supermarket. Eymet and Villereal, also Bastides are approx 15 minutes drive away. Bergerac and Villeneuve Sur Lot 30 minutes drive Car necessary
