The Gate Lodge at Gwrych Castle is very unique and it feels like you are living in a medieval castle. The main bedroom has a 4 poster bed and all the furnishings throughout give it this medieval feel . It is also very private as the main gates are...

Exactly what we expected. Loved our stay here with our elderly relatives. Did struggle with the pad lock on the gate the first time as it was on the inside and we couldn't see it but all good after that. Huge accommodation for us and dog friendly...

We struggled to locate the lodge but the host was excellent and really helpful. The lodge was very comfortable and well equipped. There were some essentials in the cupboard and ice in the freezer.

Gwrych Castle
It's rare to find a place that's both historic and one of a kind. Tan-yr-Ogo Lodge is a castle conceived as one of a series of lodges to serve Gwrych Castle and was originally the principal and ceremonial entrance to the estate. Tan-yr-Ogo or more correctly, Tan yr Ogof, translates to 'beneath the cave', and is nestled below Lady Emily's Tower and the great cave of Cefn yr Ogof, all part of the Gwrych Castle Estate.
Gwrych Castle is a 250-acre privately owned estate situated on the north Wales coast overlooking the Irish Sea.
We are based in Llanddulas, on the Gwrych Castle Estate, in an exceptionally beautiful part of the North Wales coast. The locality is peppered with monuments, fine walks, castles, lovely tourist towns like Llandudno and Conwy, Snowdonia National Park and beautiful scenery in all directions. All this within an hour and a half's journey to Liverpool and Manchester by car or by train. The lodge is less than five minutes drive to Junction 23 of the A55 and is situated on the A547. There are two bus stops outside the main gates which are on the principal routes. The closest railways stations are at Colwyn Bay (10 minutes drive) and Abergele-Pensarn (10 minutes drive). No commercial vehicles or motor homes/caravans may be parked on the property.
