The area is no longer industrial, and most of the former industrial sites have been recovered by nature, creating a unique and attractive wooded valley. The gorge is now a network of trails, bridleways, and rural lanes, while the charming settlement is known for housing the world's first iron-made bridge, which was completed between 1777 and 1779. The Ironbridge Museums Trust, which includes the intriguing Blists Hill Victorian Village, features a collection of eleven industrial and Victorian themed museums, featuring a magnificent selection of pubs, restaurants, stores, and tea rooms.
