What a wonderful house, a very quiet location and beautifully maintained and decorated throughout. We stayed during the Christmas period and it had a lovely tree plus other bits around the house.

Great communication with Sarah before and during our stay. It's a lovely little cosy cottage in a fantastic central location! The heating is pre-set to ensure it stays warm all the time which was super when we were coming in from a chilly day out...

This cute cottage and the neighbouring properties were part of a successful conversion of an old bakery, it has an open plan style lounge/ dining room with solid french oak flooring , guest cloaks/ WC and fitted breakfast kitchen with a range of integrated appliances including fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and oven & hob. Bathroom with shower. We have a travel cot and high chair if required. Just off the beautiful high street of Bridgnorth, set in a private courtyard , ideally located for Severn Valley Railway or just a couple of nights out in Bridgnorth. The cottage has 3 bedrooms, one king bedroom, one double bedroom and the attic room which leads off the master king size bedroom via a paddle staircase ( not suitable for anyone with mobility issues) and has a sofa bed , we can easily accommodate 5 people , possibly 6 if children, though it is in the centre of Bridgnorth , 2 minutes from the high street it is extremely quiet. We have furnished it to the highest standard, everyone who stays with us wants to return.
My name is Sarah, I moved to Bridgnorth 8 years ago and love the town, I always leave my guests in peace, however if there are any issues I am contactable and will always pop around if needed.
Bridgnorth, in reality, is two towns: the High Town (good views down) and the Low Town (good views up). Now connected by the steepest inland funicular railway in Britain. The Low Town was once a thriving port along the banks of the River Severn, while the High Town held the castle, the churches, and many fine 16th and 17th century mansions. The more energetic amongst you can amble up one of the seven sets of steps, or the steep old Cartway, where goods were once hauled to the market above. The carts are gone, but the markets remain. Antiques and local produce are particular specialities. What’s left of the Castle leans at an alarming angle, even greater than the Tower of Pisa. The building was blown up in the Civil War by the Parliamentarians – who botched it, typical of parliamentarians. Nearby an iron footbridge takes you to the Severn Valley Railway Station. If you want to explore the beautiful Severn Gorge to the south, you should definitely let the steam train take the strain. And you can enjoy wonderful 1940’s and 1960’s steam nostalgia weekends. You won't go hungry or thirsty, there are an abundance of delightful coffee shop, eateries and real ale pubs.
