We loved absolutely everything.. location, the house, views, peace and quiet, hosts' Duncan and Shona's care and communication. An Dòbhran is a wonderful find. Dornie has it all without the noise 💝 A 10 minute walk to a lively pub was everything...

The interior design, quality of finish and attention to detail was impressive. The whole property was spotlessly clean and warm on arrival. Kitchen is very well equipped. The communication before and during our stay was excellent.

Brand new, spacious luxury house with mountain and sea views. Distinctly Scottish, owned by local family and built on the family croft. The sea view changes constantly, with sea & shore birds, golden & sea eagles and regular visits from otters, it’s a country paradise. We take bookings for a minimum of 3 nights or more so that you have time to enjoy this place. The local pub & hotel are a short walk & a few mins from world-famous Eilean Donan Castle. Ideally located for Isle of Skye, Glenshiel & other mountains, it’s a perfect base for walking, cycling, kayaking & sightseeing. Or doing nothing. Designed with comfort in mind, the extensive ground floor has a sitting area looking onto the sea, an open-plan sitting, dining and fully equipped kitchen. There’s a twin/superking bedroom and spacious bathroom. Upstairs there’s a sitting/work area on the mezzanine and a kingsize bedroom with en-suite bath and shower room. Due to style and location, the house isn’t suitable for under-12s. There’s private car parking, an EV charger (charged separately) a seating area at the front of the house and a clothes line at the rear. We provide a welcome pack with various local goodies, milk and some of our own eggs (so long as the hens are laying). If you want information or advice, we’re happy to chat or if you prefer to do your own thing, we’ll leave you to it. Follow us at Dornie Croft on social for more views inside the cottage or for wildlife, weather and views.
We live a short distance from An Dòbhran, near enough to say hello, answer questions and sort things out but far enough away so you have your own space and privacy. Our reviews consistently say how helpful and informative we’ve been so don’t just take our word for it, have a look at them.
The small former fishing village of Dornie is nestled in the magnificent western Ross-shire Highlands of Scotland. The village is located at the meeting point of Loch Duich, Loch Alsh and Loch Long and only a short walking distance from the world-famous Eilean Donan Castle, the most photographed castle in Scotland, if not the world! There’s a great hotel and pub within a few minutes’ walk of Dornie Croft, where An Dòbhran is. They also do live music sessions so great night out guaranteed. We’re in an ideal location for Isle of Skye, the Skye ferry and the Bealach na Ba to Applecross. The nearby Skye Bridge on the well-known Road to the Isles also makes Dornie a convenient base for exploring the outstanding places of interest and the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside. There’s lots of sights to visit and the scenery is outstanding. If you like hill-walking Dornie is ideally located for a wide selection of Munros and Corbetts on the mainland and the Isle of Skye. You can choose day trips in all directions- across the original Skye ferry or the newer bridge to tour the Isle of Skye, north to Lochcarron and Applecross over the famous Bealach nam Bà, or across to Inverness and the battlefield at Culloden Moor. There’s plenty of wildlife to spot - golden and sea eagles, herons, buzzards and lots of shore birds. You might see otters - An Dòbhran is the Scottish Gaelic for otter. There are red and roe deer on the hills, as well as foxes, pine martens and badgers. You might spot porpoises and round Skye, dolphins, orcas and basking sharks. The area has lots of craft shops and galleries as well as restaurants, cafes and takeaways, ranging from Michelin starred menus to good pub grub. All in all, you’ll not see and do everything that’s on offer which is always a reason to come back!
