Here you will see extraordinary rock formations which can be seen best from the headland walks which are part of the Wales Coast Path . The Path is the longest trail in Britain, ranging from Chester to Chepstow. This part is known as the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. The nearest Blue Flag beaches are Rest Bay, Trecco Bay, Porthcawl Marina in Bridgend, and Penarth Marina in the Vale of Glamorgan. The following beaches have been given the Seaside Award 2023 Southerndown, Whitmore Bay, Llantwit Major and Jacksons Bay in the Vale of Glamorgan. Or enjoy a gallop on a beach with views over the Severn Estuary, 20 minutes away at Ogmore Farm Riding Centre, passing Southerndown Beach, another well-known surfing location. Llandow Circuit offers race days for the grown-ups and go-karting for the young and old. In August, the Vale of Glamorgan Show exhibits animals, agricultural skills, local produce and much more – one of the best family days out. In October is the wonderful Cowbridge Music Festival which offers live music ranging from classical, to choral, to musical accompaniment of silent films, mostly presented in historic venues. A 50 minute drive away is Cardiff, Wales’ capital city which promises to delight with its vibrant streets and beautiful castle. On the way to Cardiff is Dyffryn Gardens, a National Trust property with stunning gardens. Just under an hour's drive away is Swansea with its lovely coastline, Swansea is a hive of activity.
