Nestled within the Brecon Beacons National Park, with spectacular Black Mountain views is your comfortable, quiet, clean Shepherds Hut for 2. You’ll be staying on our 8acre smallholding, boasting wildflower meadow (seasonal obviously!), woodland, stream and direct footpaths onto the Beacons. Within the quiet village of Gwynfe, we have the beautiful craft hub of Llandeilo nearby. Here you’ll find great pubs, restaurants and independent shops. We also run @axeandpaddle courses from here too - check us out! The space Our shepherds hut offers basic yet comfortable, clean and colourful facilities, in a beautiful and peaceful setting with lots to do nearby. We have tonnes of recommendations for you! Within a short drive are the most incredible wild swimming spots, country walks, lakes and waterfalls, mountains and beautiful sandy stretches a little further but within an hour. With double bed (linens and towels included), hot and cold running water, electricity and outdoor fire pit, kitchenette and seating. Free parking. Outdoor plumbed loo. No shower available this year but we plan to upgrade for the future! No Wi-Fi. We hope you embrace the off grid lifestyle! Guest access Shepherds hut, garden, fire pit, separate flushing loo. We're in the process of building an outdoor kitchen space too. It's not quite finished, but definitely useable! Other things to note No smoking please Please recycle
We're a family of 4 - Kirsty & Steve, originally from London and Surrey and our kids Fox and Indiana who are 7 and 4 at the time of writing. We love living on our smallholding in South Wales, which we moved out family from Brighton for! The scenery, eating out, exploring The Beacons and enjoying the beaches of the south and west coasts. This is a great place to live and visit and we have tonnes of recommendations for your stay!
Neighbourhood highlights Gwynfe is a peaceful village in stunning countryside with spectacular Black Mountain views. Within a short drive are larger towns of Llandeilo, Llandovery and further afield, Hay on Wye, Carmarthen, Swansea and Brecon. The most incredible country walks, lakes and waterfalls, castles, mountains are all close by. And beautiful sandy stretches a little further, but within an hour. On site, we run Axe & Paddle Bushcraft, teaching bushcraft and primitive skills. To view our courses, please take a look @axeandpaddle or we have a website if you search for us by name. We do offer a discount on the Shepherds Hut for anyone booking a course with us, so do get in touch if both appeal! Getting around Footpaths very close with excellent walking trails. Visits to towns will require a car/motorcycle/bikes if you’re up for the cycle!
