Thank you for considering our beloved old coaching house! It is a quirky old building and each room is unique, so we request that you read all the policies carefully before booking or contact us to clarify your requirements so as to be sure you get exactly what you want. We would much rather help you find your perfect getaway (even at another bnb) rather than risk a less than perfect experience with us.

Property information

Situated in the heart of the Brecon Beacons national park, The Borderers guesthouse is a former coaching inn dating from the 17th century. Number 47 The Watton is shown on the oldest known map of Brecon: the 1834 - Plan of Brecon as the Lamb Inn. We have been told that it also masqueraded as house of ill repute at some point. Today, it retains its lovely old character with modern facilities. Each of our rooms is unique. No two are alike. If you have any concerns, please get in touch at least 14 days before arrival. If you require an accessable room, please be aware that our accessable room is not suitable for all disabilities. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements before booking. If our property is not suitable, we will be happy to direct you to the best possible option. We do not accept PETS through bookingdotcom We accept ADULT GUESTS ONLY through bookingdotcom

Neighbourhood information

Brecon is the headquarters of the Brecon Beacons National Park authority. The town is steeped in history, yet offers a wide variety of shops, restuarants, cafes and bars. We have a magnificent Theatre, a Cinema and a fully equipped leisure centre providing many facilities. There are two Golf Clubs nearby. Then, of course, there are the spectacular Brecon Beacons themselves. Pen y Fan is the highest point in the British Isles south of Snowdonia. Fishing for trout and salmon is available on the River Usk which flows through the town. We also have the Welsh Regiment's museum which is full of fascinating facets of the regiments history, particularly in regards to the Zulu wars. The town also hosts an International Jazz Festival every August - recent headliners include Burt Bacharach, Dionne Warwick, Jools Holland, Van Morrison, Amy Winehouse, Ray Davis and many more. The canal, just behind us, offers boat cruises, canoe and day boat hire. There is something for everyone!
