Located in the centre of Lostwithiel all day-to-day amenities are only a short level walk from the property. There is a mainline railway station with a regular service to London Paddington, several connections to Truro and Exeter. The A390 runs through the town and offers excellent communication links with the remainder of the county and beyond. The town is popular year-round, lots of independent shops specialising in Antiques, Interiors and Vintage but alongside these you’ll find wonderful homeware, clothing, jewellery, food and drink businesses. There are many events for visitors to attend, Gin Festivals, Sing Along the River, Regattas, Lostfest, Ciderfest and Dickensian Evening to name a few. It has a great community, lovely and quiet for most of the year. The River Fowey offers lots of possibilities, wild swimming, paddle boarding, canoes, kayaks, boating, running through St Winnow and Golant before reaching Fowey and the open sea, you can also divert to Lerryn and many other tributaries. The book Wind in the Willows was based on the authors love and experiences of the river Fowey. The countryside surrounding Lostwithiel offers beautiful circular walks in all directions and Lanhydrock House is an easy walk. The coast, clifftop walks and beaches are just a short distance away. Many pubs and restaurants within walking distance from the property.
