Company information

Wendy and Nic are a husband and wife team with extensive business and hospitality experience that we bring to Bron Y Graig. Our aim is to make your stay enjoyable and memorable, whatever brings you to our door. We share wide-ranging interests - including literature, sport and travel - and we love dogs! There are a number of translations of the name Bron Y Graig, but the one we like to use is 'Almost the rock' as indeed we are nestled in the side of the Berwyn Mountains - a setting we love and think you will too.

Property information

Nestled on the side of a mountain, Bron Y Graig is remarkable for its amazing views across the Dee Valley and its spacious bedrooms decorated with beautiful William Morris designs. We are on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, five minutes from the Plas Isaf wedding venue and the Rhug Estate, and a short drive from the market towns of Llangollen, Bala and Ruthin. Our late-Victorian Sheriff's house has extensive grounds with various lawns, a sun terrace and even an old slate quarry. In summer we offer a weekly barbecue for guests and our licensed bar is open all year round with a selection of bar meals available to order. A full breakfast is included in all room rates. Finding us is easy: Bron y Graig is situated on the A5 on the edge of Corwen, providing easy access to all of North Wales' tourist attractions and adventure activities from Portmeirion to Llandudno, Pontcyssyllte Aqueduct to Bala Lake and, of course, Snowdon and Snowdonia national park. Nic and Wendy welcome walkers, climbers, anglers, adventurers, people travelling for work, for a weekend getaway or for a special holiday. Whether you are travelling alone, with a partner/friend, or in a group, we assure you of a warm welcome at any time of year.

Neighbourhood information

Bron-y-Graig is on the edge of Corwen, overlooking river, fields and hills. A 5-minute walk to the town square takes you to shops, cafes, pubs, takeaways and restaurants. Corwen is a great location for peaceful walks and hill climbs - several hiking routes pass through the town. There are also plenty of cycling routes, fishing beats, ancient monuments and other historic sites in the vicinity, along with the local Karting track. We are also not far from a clay pigeon shooting centre, and, from spring 2023, the Llangollen to Corwen steam railway will make daytrips to Llangollen both easy and special. The picturesque town of Bala, with its amazing Lake, is just twenty minutes away, passing the world famous Rhug Estate on the way, and most towns and attractions in North Wales are less than an hour by car from Corwen. The English towns of Shrewsbury and Chester are equally close, with the major cities of Liverpool and Manchester only a little further afield.
