Surrounded by rolling hills and valleys, a short stroll from the river Irfon, our guesthouse is conveniently located for relaxing walks, hiking, biking and all the festivities and attractions of Britain’s smallest town. Bryncelyn is an ideal base for a holiday in Mid-Wales, whether you’ll be exploring the Cambrian Mountains, the nearby Elan Valley, the Brecon Beacons or simply enjoying Llanwrtyd Wells itself with its historic buildings, friendly real ale pubs and stunning views. We have a spacious, comfortable guest lounge and each of our rooms have a flat screen Smart TV. We can accommodate large groups and can provide evening meals by arrangement. There is a secure space for bikes and the driveway can accommodate up to six cars.

Neighbourhood information

The historic spa town of Llanwrtyd Wells is a vibrant hub for walkers, hikers, bikers and lovers of the great outdoors. With fantastic walks on the doorstep, from gentle strolls along the river Irfon to more challenging hikes through the nearby hills of Pen y Ddinas, the Garn, the Doethie valley, the breathtaking Sugar Loaf mountain or the spectacular Llyn Brianne dam, there is something for walkers of all abilities in the 'smallest town in Britain.' Linked by the Heart of Wales train line and the A483, the town is perfectly situated for visiting the nearby market-towns of Llandovery, Llandeilo and Builth Wells and it's a perfect base for exploring the Elan valley, Cambrian mountains and the Brecon Beacons as well as being handy for the Royal Welsh Show at Builth Wells within ten miles and the Hay-on-Wye festival. But the town is a unique experience for visitors in its own right, with welcoming real-ale pubs, restaurants, a cafe, Heritage Centre and gallery. The year-round Green Events bring visitors from all over the world to Llanwrtyd, whether to the famous Man vs Horse race in June, the World Bog-Snorkelling Championships in August or the Real Ale Ramble and Wobble in November.
