A tranquil place you won’t want to leave… Enjoy breakfast in the dining room or at our on-site ‘shack’. You can enjoy a cosy night in front of the open fire, under the stars on top of the Haha or, snuggled in your own little woodland. Catton Hall is a grand Victorian property full of character. Each bedroom with king size bed has views across the paddocks where horses, sheep, hens and pigs graze. We also have bee hives! We cannot wait to welcome you! Renovated in April 2025! The Hall has been divided into two properties. The room is complete with king size bed and large ensuite bathroom with shower and separate freestanding bath. Beautiful views can be enjoyed from every window. Some show the picturesque North Yorkshire Moors in the distance. You'll have access to the drawing and dining room during your stay which are fully equipped and both have large original open fires. Our on-site shack for breakfast/brunch is not to be missed. The Shack is a farm shop and market garden enjoyed by local people who come to us for our home reared meat, homegrown vegetables and to enjoy the food lovingly made by our chef. He uses as much produce as possible produced from our market garden and surrounding paddocks. We sell our own honey and have homemade fresh bread on a Friday and Saturday morning. You can even try one of our homemade market garden meals or locally famous pies for supper!!! The dining room has a water station, toaster, microwave and air fryer for those wanting to eat an evening meal or enjoy breakfast in the dining room. Why not try one of our meals which can be purchased from the Shack?! There are some beautiful walks from the Hall so you can walk further than the grounds if you wish.
We live in one half of the Hall (Hugo, Amy and Wilbur) leaving lots of space for you to enjoy both inside and out. We have two pet dogs (Teddy and Scrappie) and a working collie for the sheep called Buzz. It’s a working farm but we have sectioned off areas so you will know where we are working. We love our animals and also enjoy trips to the seaside!!
Lots to do and see: Just a 20 minute drive to the beautiful moorland, ruins and sites of the beautiful North York Moors Thirsk and Ripon racecourses are under a 15 minute drive away and you can enjoy a hearty breakfast at the on site shack before you go!! The Angel pub was renovated in 2024 this pub offers wonderful food and a great place for a beer in front of the fire A lovely circular walk which takes about 40 minutes from the hamlet of Catton and back to us! Brimham Rocks is a day out for the whole family with walks and rocks for children to have fun playing on. Picnic friendly or there is a cafe. Fountains Abbey is such a beautiful place to visit and have a walk around. It is a beautiful setting and Ripon itself is just a short drive away with cafes, shops and restaurants. Something for everyone...
