Welcome to our newly renovated luxury three-bedroom, two-bathroom Grade B1 listed cottage situated in the heart of the popular town of Donaghadee. Having recently undergone a major programme of renovation our 200 year old cottage successfully combines all the essentials for comfortable modern living with the charm and character of years gone by. Great care has been taken to preserve many original features. The cottage is ideal for couples and families and children of all ages are very welcome.
I was born in this area and have lived here most of my life so have a wealth of knowledge about the locality. I love meeting people who are visiting the area and am happy to advise on local attractions, cafes, restaurants & bars. I will do my best to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Feel free to contact me during your stay with any queries.
The cricket pitch across the road gives the front of the Captains Cottage an open aspect and is a great safe place for children to play. A three minute walk (past the oldest pub in Ireland) takes you to the centre of Donaghadee. From there a short stroll past the many charming cafes and award winning eateries takes you past the local gin distillery, ( a visit to its visitors centre and cafe is a must! ) to the historic stone harbour and charming lighthouse. From here sea fishing and bird watching trips are available. Alternatively , you might just want to chill out on one of the beaches which are set within and near the town.
