We are a small family run company, we currently have the one apartment however we are about to start renovation on another two apartments also in Northumberland.
Property information
What a gem! And nestled within the very heart of the historic border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. The Clan Young Suite at No.3 Reiver Apartments has been specially created to provide the most intimate and adorable get away experience.
The apartment is part of the recently converted Grade II listed 300+ year old Marygate Building.
Located opposite of the Town Hall Building it originally served as the Officers Accommodation, pre dating the famous Berwick Barracks.
The suite has been sympathetically updated giving a personal charm whilst adhering to the distinguished heritage of the building. It imbues classic style with a quirky twist to ooze the senses onto unwind and indulge.
The suite has all usual facilities in the most stylish form. Large open living room with TV, Wi-Fi exceptional décor and dressing.
The kitchen is fully integrated with fridge/freezer, oven/hob, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and toaster, tea & coffee making is also accommodated.
The voluminous bedroom is truly a theater of luxury. It combines elegance with the spectacular. You can kickback and unwind in the enormous polished copper bath and be absorbed into the huge super king quilted bed.
Neighbourhood information
The rich history of Berwick-upon-Tweed dates back hundreds of years and gives great tapestry to Britain’s history.
Due to its unique border and coastal location Berwick-upon-Tweed became one of the main conquering prizes of the English and Scottish wars.
This busy vein of history saw Berwick change hands at least 13 times until finally being secured by the English in 1482.
These were still very turbulent times for the border lands and still highly debated bandit country. Poverty was rife and reiving (cattle thieving) a common occupation. The borders were occupied on both sides by inter-related families, many of which were large in number and reputation.
The menfolk were typified with horse, lang spier and steel bonnet. They became known as Border Reivers and now very well documented by family name.
