This is my London home, a really pretty garden flat. It’s not fancy (think boho not Belgravia) but clean, cosy, comfortable and personal, with its own private entrance. Parkway is Camden's music street and is just five minutes’ walk from the famous Camden Market and from the peace and beauty of Regent’s Park. An ideal location to explore London from. The first bedroom to front has a very comfortable double divan bed with top quality pocket sprung mattress. There is plenty of space in the wardrobes and designated drawers for guests, but as this is my home too, you will find some of my things around too, so please be respectful of these. The bathroom is next door with shower over bath, toilet and hand basin. The second bedroom is also furnished with comfortable double divan bed and excellent foam mattress. To the rear is the light and airy lounge/diner and kitchen area with French doors leading to the private garden, a haven away from the hustle and bustle of London town, that has all weather seating and a built-in BBQ. The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee machine, cooker, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing/dryer. All bedding, towels, crockery, cutlery and cookware is included. There is a ceiling projector, Fire TV stick & 100in screen in the lounge area.

Hello and welcome to my London home. I'm an ex BBC, ex Discovery Channel, ex climate change and media researcher/producer; currently working on a book about what goes on at the end of the line in tube stations. I love my Camden flat dearly, and love sharing it with guests who appreciate a more personal place to stay and who will enjoy the space I've made. The flat has been a labour of love over the past few months, decorating, finding furniture and fittings, including bringing my book collection from my other home in Devon. Almost every week I add something new - a piece of art, a mirror, or even a mug. Most everything in the flat has been sourced not from stores but from private sellers across London. Where possible I try to avoid buying new things - partly for environmental reasons, partly because it is much more interesting to go to meet someone and bring the goodies home. The key thing is that I want you to have the pleasure of staying in my home - rather than a hotel room. But please do remember this is my home, so it is personal with lots of my things around - which I hope you will enjoy.

Camden Town is one of those areas of London that has kept much the same character since I first lived here in the 1960's. It's a raffish, messy sort of a place - there are some very posh streets up by Primrose Hill but the main area around the tube station is wild and woolly. Parkway is a busy street full of independent shops, cafes, bars and music venues. It runs between the noisy mess of Camden Town and serene elegance of Regent's Park with its magnificent Regency period mansions. For music lovers, you’ll find the Jazz Cafe at the Tube station end of the street, and the Green Note and Dublin Castle at the other end – which are just a couple of doors either side of my flat. Just minutes away you’ll find a small supermarket, an excellent traditional greengrocer and a large organic food store. Directly opposite the flat is the very excellent Coffee Jar, a lovely independent coffee shop serving great coffee and pastries with seating inside and out. Just down the street is One Shot Coffee, another small independent coffee shop with seating in the back.
