Newtonmore is an ideal location to get away from the hustle & bustle of city life and experience a tranquil, picturesque typical Highland Village. "Dullatur" is a VisitScotland 4-star self-catering property. The house offers 3 floors of modern living in a serene and tranquil setting. The top floor hosts the master bedroom and en suite. The ground floor hosts a twin room, a double room, bathroom, utility room, dining room, kitchen and living room. The basement hosts a TV room, plus we can provide a single fold-up bed. Younger children are welcome but you would need to bring your own cot. Well behaved pets by request. There is also a drying room and back door leading to lower patio. To the front of the property there is a seating area looking over to the mountain view. At the back of the property is a private deck and patio with garden furniture. If you want an activity holiday, or a relaxing holiday, both can be catered for in the surrounding area.
Dullatur has been in the family since 1938 and was rebuilt in 2008 to the modern property it is now. Your hosts, Alan and Sandra, have lived and worked in the Eaglesham area, near Glasgow, returning permanently to Newtonmore in 2015. They have an extensive local knowledge of the area, able to provide advice on nearby walks, adventure activities in the surrounding vicinity, and recommended coffee shops! They now live close by to Dullatur, and will be on hand to offer help and information.
You are just across the road from the tennis courts and bowling green, and a short walk from the Golf Course. Tennis rackets and balls can be hired from the bicycle shop on the main road. At the side of the house is the path leading to Loch Imrich, a short circular route popular with dog walkers. Please clean up after your dog, bins are located around the path. There are benches dotted around the loch for anyone wishing to sit and take in the scenery or feed the ducks! All types of water sports are catered for at Loch Insch and Loch Morlich, both a short drive away. All equipment needed can be hired, and there are tearooms at both sites. Loch An Eilann in the Rothiemurchas Estate was voted the best picnic spot in UK on a recent survey. There are numerous paths for walkers and cyclists, with a circular path around the Loch, about 1.5 hours duration. A small shop is by the Loch. The information centre for the estate is at Inverdruie, where there is also a tearoom serving meals, and a food shop selling produce from the estate. Other activities on the estate can be booked there. If you like hiking, there are three Munros close by.
