Company information

We took over the running of Durham House Hotel in 2021 and feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful house in a stunning village. We have completed a number of large projects on the house since purchasing the property to further improve our guests experience and each winter we close the house to complete improvement work. Our guest reviews regularly mention 'feeling at home away from home' and our high quality breakfast, which we cook to order, using locally sourced products each day.

Property information

Durham House Hotel offers a Bed & Breakfast in a handsome 1897 Victorian property. Our accommodation has a Beer stone facade and it retains a wealth of character features, typical of the late Victorian era including a splendid lobby and entrance hallway with arched doorways, stained glass and Minton floor. Our beautiful historic bed and breakfast is set in the heart of the village of Beer, just a stone's throw from the beach and perfectly located for the local pubs, wine bars & restaurants. A full English, vegetarian or vegan breakfast is served in our breakfast room. Parking is nearby in central village car park (2 min walk).

Beer is a beautiful fishing village with lots to see and do. Situated on the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline, it is a great destination for anyone who appreciates spectacular coastal scenery and an ideal setting for a relaxing holiday or weekend break. Beer offers as safe, sheltered beach with beautiful walking scenery, It has a range of interesting shops and places to eat and drink, Attractions on the doorstep include the Beer Quarry Caves, Pecorama model railway and gardens, Seaton Tramway and the Donkey Sanctuary. Beer is also an ideal for day trips to the nearby Exmouth, Taunton, Sidmouth and Lyme Regis.
