Probably our favourite location ever stayed in. Beautiful. Right in the middle of the pentland hills. Amazing for walks, very picturesque, very quiet, very relaxing, and half hour drive to Edinburgh or an hour to Glasgow, for reference. Great...

Company information

The Eastside philosophy has always been a simple one. To share this special place with likeminded folk who share our love for this magical wee part of the world. Jenny grew up at Eastside in the picturesque farmhouse nestled just below the West Kip summit. Throughout her childhood there was a constant hum of guests as her parents Susan and Alastair ran it as welcoming and homely holiday cottages alongside their working hill farm. Having met Michael while studying Architecture and Landscape Architecture, the couple, inspired by space-making, place-making and the comings and goings of the working farm returned to Eastside. Putting their own unique stamp on the genuine agritourismo experience. Still a true family run business with a love for the land at the heart of what we do. This commitment to a slower more thoughtful tourism, with beautiful spaces and relaxed experiences leave guests feeling nourished, rested and inspired.

Property information

A modern interpretation of a barn conversion, this architectural gem fits beautifully into its 18th Century Scottish farmyard. The crisp modern interior complements the original sandstone exterior. Huge windows frame the heather hills and woodlands of the Pentland Hills Regional Park on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Architecturally designed, the light and airy double-height space takes on a Scandinavian feel with restrained use of colour and simple materials. Light floods through the windows with beautifully crafted ash window seat and generous sheepskins. An open-plan space is thoughtfully divided through level changes, perforated screens and bespoke furniture. Explore Edinburgh or hike from the doorstep right into the Scottish wilderness. Picnic on the nearest hill top, then return to sooth your tired legs in the wood-fired sauna yurt. The sauna will be available to book upon your arrival (for an additional fee).

Neighbourhood information

Eastside is nestled among acres of stunning countryside within the Pentland Hills Regional Park, just outside Edinburgh. Explore the local trails, hike to the local pub or just take a moment to watch the wildlife and the world go by from the nearest hilltop. Eastside is an organic working hill farm with miles of open, scenic countryside right on our doorstep. The properties are surrounded by hills and accessed via a 1 mile farm-track. We strongly recommend the use of a car for your stay. Edinburgh is within easy reach by car (about 30mins drive).
