    The position of the property is central to all the amenities. Once parked there is no need to use the car in Appleby. Ample room space and suitable for 2 unrelated single people as well as a family. We love the Swimming Pool , Shops and Area.

This grade II listed former school house is located centrally in the heart of Appleby in Westmorland and on the doorstep of both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. It will provide you a perfect base to explore some of the most beautiful areas in England. It also gives easy access to pubs, restaurants, ancient castle, swimming pool, river walks etc. Enjoy a stroll along the flowing banks or just a relaxing drink whilst watching cricket and listening to the sounds of the river Eden!

Appleby has been a market town since medieval times. It still possesses a Moot hall and castle and has a great deal of interest and charm. With the river Eden winding round the town it has been both a strategic and important centre in the region famous for the Appleby horse fair, the largest of its kind. Appleby is on or near to the Cumbria Cycle Way, the Westmorland Way, the Pennine Way and the Coast to Coast Walk. It allows visitors quick and easy access to the Yorkshire dales, the lakes and the North Pennines all areas of outstanding natural beauty. There is parking outside the address allowing 3 hours free parking with a permit (permits free at shops and at address). There is also a pay car park across the road allowing 24 hours parking. As is traditional for this type of building the stairs are quite steep and should be taken into consideration if there are any mobility issues.
