The Queen Hotel Wetherspoon, hotel in Aldershot

Located in Aldershot, The Queen Hotel Wetherspoon has a garden, restaurant, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property.

Clean, spacious, well equipped comfortable room. Very quiet. Well stocked with tea/coffee etc including decaf. Good sized bathroom with lots of shelf space and hot water. The staff could not have been more helpful from start to finish. Traveled with my elderly mother so staff took bags to and from our room. Replenished stocks on request and we’re incredibly efficient at the bar and with food even though it was very busy. All with a smile 😊 Would highly recommend. Thank you.

Bush Hotel Farnham, hotel in Aldershot

This former 17th-century coaching inn has been carefully restored to provide a relaxed hotel. With traditional charm, the Mecure Farmham Bush offers an oak-beamed bar and free parking.

The hotel was hosting a wedding reception so very lively on the 20th April and busy. I was warmly welcomed at check in by the employees. My room overlooked a grassy courtyard, was very clean and comfortable and equipped with coffee maker, mini fridge, a desk and flat screen TV. I ate continental breakfast on the morning of the 21st and there was a huge choice of cereals, bakery items, fresh fruits and juices. My car was parked overnight in the complimentary parking lot and that was great as well. Hotel internet worked fine.

We were only staying overnight en route to another destination so didn't spend any time in the town itself, but the parking was poor and it was very noisy after the pubs turned out. 1 am and a very noisy crowd singing and shouting outside. But it's an army town, not a holiday destination.

Last time I was in Aldershot was around 27 years ago when it was the home of the British Army. It has had some major changes over those years for the better. If you enjoy walking there are many routes that you can follow along the canal and through the countryside. If you enjoy a little bit of fishing then you have the Lake house and the Raisons Fishing Tackle & Guns Shop also on site is a Café. For those looking for a bit of military history then its all around you with the Military Cemetery, Statue of Wellington and the Garrison Church and many other areas to explore. It has a Theatre and within the new complex a cinema and all the eating places that you could want. Well worth a visit and most of this is in walking distance from the main town.

Good spacious layout (ground floor), comfortable and warm rooms with a well equipped kitchen and washing facilities. The with WiFi was super and a nice bonus was the netflix access! Even though the location was situated next to a small roundabout it was surprisingly quiet. Aldershot Town and shops a short distance away. Basingstoke Canal and Fields, MoD (Military) exercise grounds (controlled access) are great for runners where distance is no object. Host (Laura) was excellent and ensured a very smooth transition and wonderful stay.

Was local to where we needed to be, nice it was close to Aldershot Town centre. Parking was available. A good size for 2 adults. Check in abd check out was easy. Communication wad quick, easy and helpful. We both found the bed comfortable as we pushed the two singles together. Was enough cutlery and crockery, Was nice that there was a few tea bags, sugar and little milks available when we arrived, Was a nice gesture.

Was a lovely plesant place to stay the staff were great checking the rooms before letting us head up even though they were clearly short staffed due or covid. The room was clean and tidy and a good size with 2 ddouble beds. Then we were invited or use the bar for the evening and shown to the rustic style tavern inside the hotel. It was like stepping back in time. Very quaint. Oak beams loads of brass on the walls etc.

We were actually asked to stay at their sister hotel - Lakeside international in Frimley Green - by phone prior to our trip as works going on at Potters International. Same deal etc. So my comments apply to that hotel. Very well organised and we were made very welcome.

Not an overly bad stay, just a bit misleading from pics and noisy guests could make it difficult to sleep well. Enough on street parking. Was close to aldershot raceway so good location for us. Free wifi and netflix and good size tv was a plus.
