Property information

This beautiful well proportioned 17th century property is packed with period charm refurbished to modern standards. Ideal for those looking for ‘off grid’ with convenience. This charming three bedroom property is perfect for families or small groups. We offer a well equipped, home from home for all, including well behaved pets. Gatecoft House offers an ample living room, with log burning stove (supplied with logs) in inglenook fireplace, comfortable seating, satellite TV and DVD player. The large kitchen and dining area has a large farmhouse table to comfortably seat 6 people, log burning kitchen stove as well as conventional convector oven, halogen hob, fridge, freezer and ample storage. Secure, fully walled patio to the rear with outdoor seating and BBQ, and a secure cottage garden to the front.

Gatecroft unique cottages are set in the sleepy village of Garrigill where little has changed since the 1950s with a Post Office, church, and village green. The properties are within easy walking distance of Ashgill Force, a stunning waterfall with a path access that enables you to stand behind it. The nearest town is the highest market town of Alston, Cumbria just over the borders of County Durham & Northumberland, is about 5 miles away, with traditional cobbled streets and a small selection of shops, pubs and places to eat. Set in the North Pennines area of outstanding natural beauty, you are surrounded by velvet moorland, rolling hills and glistening rivers – a haven for those who love walking.
