We have been welcoming guests to Sunset Cottages for nearly 50 years and have made some wonderful friends over the years.

Property information

Gilling Gap, is part of the west facing Sunset Cottages barn conversion at Manor Farm. Nestling in the heart of the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, only 9 miles from Castle Howard and 25 minutes from York. Enjoy stunning views across open countryside, and rolling hills with fields of sheep, horses, woodland, bird life and truly memorable sunsets. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway, in a property cared for by the owners family, Gilling Gap is a perfect place from which to explore all of North Yorkshire. Heather’s home baked Hikers Delight and fresh flowers await. Full of character, Gilling Gap has pitch pine beams, exposed stonework and country furnishings adding to a timeless feel. From the beautifully dressed stone arch entrance, the ground floor is open plan with kitchen eating and sitting area. Upstairs the main bedroom is a double with countryside views and sunsets. The pretty bathroom with toilet, washbasin, and thermostatically controlled shower over a full sized bath. A second bedroom has two full size single beds. Sunset Cottages have been lovingly converted from a part of the old traditional farm buildings at Grimston Manor Farm. Together they form a most impressive west facing facade, with superb views and memorable sunsets.
