Company information

Hi, recently retired (and more active now than when I was working), I am a proud mother of four grown up children and 2 Dalmatians! I love the outdoor life, especially walking my dogs and gardening. I like to keep fit with adult ballet, swimming, tennis and Pilates. Music and singing are a passion and I spent 12 years in working bands. A bit of a sun worshiper, I spend time in Sardinia, Fuerteventura and Dubai, watching my son play rugby for Bahrain. Al (my partner) and I, share a good sense of humour and a passion for fine wining & dining and a pint at the pub! We like our privacy and respect yours, and are happy to interact as much or as little as you wish. We welcome you to Glebe House and will do our best to treat you to a little luxury, a lot of peace and quiet and a great base from which to explore this wonderful part of the world.

Al and Phyl have lived in this beautiful Georgian house for 22 years and have a wealth of local knowledge and experience to offer, from quality places to eat and drink, to nooks and crannies of historical interest in and around Deal. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with brand new en-suites. Look out for your hospitality tray, with a range of teas and coffee with your own cafetière. Neighbourhood information

You can find us on the Deal/Dover Road, a stone’s throw from the beach (excuse the pun!) and Walmer Castle. A real must, is a visit to Deal Pier to sample the unique view of this pretty seaside town and the delicious fare served at the Deal Pier Kitchen. The high street is an award winning collection of small boutiques, art galleries and places to wine, dine or sample great cakes and coffee. Try The Rose Hotel with its colourful bar, restaurant and sun terrace, or sample a taste of France in the Frog and Scott restaurant. The cakes and savouries in Hope and Lane and the Pop Up Cafe are to die for and there are a range of individual and quirky places to greet the day with a hearty breakfast of local produce. For those hitting the cultural trail, look out for events at The Astor Theatre, the wide range of music available at The Lighthouse on the Strand at Walmer, or take a drive out of town through the stunning garden of England, to visit The Turner Gallery in Margate, the medieval town of Sandwich, breathtaking Dover Castle, or make the pilgrimage to Canterbury and be sure to visit the cathedral. There is so much available on the doorstep with or without a car.
