Property information

Our home is a farm in the beautiful Lake District National Park where the scenery is breathtaking; we have spectacular views from the mid 17th century farmhouse as it sits high above the Cartmel Valley. Come and relax with friends and family in the private garden with 7 seat hot tub or wander through our private woodland and along the public footpaths to enjoy peace and tranquility. When the whole house isn't occupied we offer our Farm View en-suite room with it's own private entrance. Greenbank Farm is also home to world renowned The Friesian Experience, a specialist Friesian horse equestrian centre that educates people on this special breed and offers a sanctuary to abandoned and rescued Friesians; we are not a trekking centre however riders and non-riders can pre-book wonderful experiences with the horses for their stay. Like many farms, we struggle to survive but by renting out our home for holiday lets for up to 139 days per year we hope to be able to repair some of the Grade II listed agricultural buildings that are in desperate need of repairs! Cartmel is home to a racecourse, Michelin starred restaurants, Sticky Toffee Pudding, ancient Priory and the stunning Friesian Black Horses. The centre of the village (1 mile) is a gentle stroll. Lake Windermere is a 12 minute drive away, Grange-over-Sands is a 10 minute drive or you can take a hike over Hampsfell to appreciate the stunning views of Morecambe Bay and The Lake District National Park. Kendal town centre is a 20 minute drive. Concierge services include housekeeping, private chef, outdoor activities, transport services and village horse & carriage drives. Pets are welcome at additional cost.

Lake Windermere is just a 12 minute drive away where you can find wonderful walks, plenty of watersports, lake cruises and activities for all ages no matter the weather.
