I recently stayed at Hafan, a stunning log cabin just outside Hay-on-Wye in Glasbury, to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience! Louise, the host, was absolutely fantastic—brilliant at communicating from the moment...

Luxury accommodation, with a "Jacuzzi" hot tub, spectacular panoramic mountain views and wood burning stove. It is a short drive to the historic town of Hay on Wye famous for its bookshops, festivals, food markets and castle, and also to Brecon Beacons National Park The property is in a Welsh Area of Natural Beauty, surrounded by common land, hillside and fields with lots of amazing walks. Fitted to a luxurious standard with traditional features such as high ceilings gives a sense of space and calm. There is under floor heating and wood burner in the open plan living area, Samsung smart TV with firestick and WiFi and plenty of throws and cushions. A king size bed has luxury white cotton bedding and bath robes, dressing table, full length mirror and hanging space. In the private garden is a Jacuzzi (TM) hot tub under the fairy lit pergola. (no waiting for a wood fired tub to heat up!) A landscaped garden, deckchairs, garden furniture and BBQ mean you can enjoy a relaxing evening under the stars.
Brian and I have lived on Ffynnon Gynydd common for ever!! It is a truly special place with breath taking views. Brian has a local building firm and I have retired, so together we have worked on our project, to create Hafan, a unique luxury holiday experience. We hope that all of our guests will find their stays with us memorable and return here again and again. We live near the property but respect guests privacy. Access is via a key safe. We aim to briefly check in with guests soon after arrival to ensure they are happy but thereafter will respect their privacy.
Hafan is located on the edge of Ffyynon Gynydd common within a Welsh Area of Natural Beauty, surrounded by common land, rolling hillside and fields. There are many walks from the doorstep, through ancient woodlands to Glasbury-on-Wye; across the common; or onto the Begwyn Hills, a wild and rolling landscape of NT common land. The village of Glasbury-on-Wye is a 2-mile drive or gentle walk downhill along a pretty woodland path. It is nestled on both sides of the River Wye from where there is a launch point for canoes and river beach popular for picnics, sunbathing and paddling. A short drive takes you to the historic Welsh market town Hay-on-Wye centred around the ancient castle. Famous for the Hay Literary Festival. food markets and the largest second-hand bookshop town in the world. The Black Mountains provide a dramatic and rugged landscape with far reaching views. “Gospel Pass” is the highest road in Wales from Hay-on-Wye to Llanthony Priory with its old ruins and pub. Bannau Brycheiniog is Brecons' national park home to mountains such as Pen-y-Fan (the highest peak in Southern Britain), Corn Du, and Craig Gwaun Taf and the “waterfall country” .
