The small town of Tregaron has a friendly village atmosphere, and a short stroll will bring you to independent shops and the square with a pub and restaurant. Also standing on the square is a wood carving depicting Twm Siôn Cati, the legendary 17th century ‘Robin Hood of Wales’. Tregaron hosts the annual walking festival in May and an annual horse trotting and carriage racing event. Cors Caron, or Tregaron Bog as it is also known is the largest raised bog in Britain and lies just outside the town. It provides a habitat for rare flora and fauna and is fantastic for wildlife spotting, including buzzards, peregrine falcons, harriers and iconic red kites.
