Two unique Cabins designed by the owners, as seen on C4's Sandi Togsvig's Extraordinary escapes Season 3 ep 3. Wrapped in beautiful Welsh Scenery with wild swimming spots close by and lots of forests and trails to explore. Very close to Hergest Ridge (Offas Dyke Path) and an award winning pub (Country Pub of the year 2020) just 15 minutes walk up the road! Hergest Lee is the perfect place to relax and re connect with nature. The cabins were designed and built by the owners and the interior decor has been hand sourced by us. Everything in here has a personal feel so it can feel like a home from home for our guests. We live on site in an old threshing barn which we are converting, (it’s connected to the lean to). We love to welcome guests here and please just knock on our door should you need anything/recommendations and we are so happy to help. We do have young children so you might hear them sometimes. The Cabin is situated in the small hamlet of Burlingjobb, we are remote but do have neighbours so you won't feel completely isolated. There are no shops here, the nearest town is Kington (2.5 miles) or Presteigne (6 miles). We have fibrotic broadband and 4g, excellent phone signal (although it can be a bit patchy on EE).Both cabins are designed with environmental considerations in mind, they have a continuous insulation layer to avoid thermal bridging, are wrapped in a breathable membrane to virtually eliminate draughts and to allow for the structure to breathe. Made using cedar from a local Welsh sawmill and using polystyrene instead of polyisocyanurate board (Kingspan, Celotex) due to its considerably lower environmental impact. All paints, wood stains and varnishes are natural. Please note the mezzanine areas are suitable for children but perhaps not adults or teenagers, they are small spaces which you can’t stand up in, the ladder to the lean-to bunks is steep so unsuitable for very small children unless an adult is sleeping up there with them.
We live on site and will be on hand should you need anything but we respect your privacy and will only call should you need something. However please come and knock on our door if you have any questions and we will be happy to help with local recommendations/ walks etc. We are warm and friendly hosts who are happy to help/chat. We have small children and are usually busy getting them to bed between 6-8pm
We are located in a small hamlet called Burlingjobb, the nearest shops are 2.5 miles away. We are remote but we have nighbours so you wont feel completely isolated. There are forest trails and hills and beautiful walks straight from the cabins. We are close to pretty market towns such as Presteigne and the famous ‘book town’ Hay-on-Wye, there’s also Ludlow to explore and Leominster, famed for its antiques.
