Highfield Farm is situated on a quiet lane just outside Great Ryburgh (approx 5 miles from Fakenham by road), a really quiet spot for unwinding and relaxing. An ideal location for cyclists, bird watching and farming/rural enthusiasts. The farm itself boasts an abundance of wildlife, close to the river Wensum and neighbour to Pensthorpe Wildfowl Park. Close too, are the beaches of Holkham and Wells-Next-the-Sea or coastal villages of Morston and Blakeney. Approx 5 miles south of the popular market town of Fakenham and only 14 miles from the popular tourist towns of Holt or just 11 miles to Burnham Market, Highfield Farm is centrally located for days out just about anywhere in Norfolk! Highfield Farm is a fully working arable farm and John is the fourth generation to farm the land, a rustic farmhouse, but with a cosy feel. Guests are welcome to sit in the private walled garden and enjoy the views across the meadow where their horses quietly graze and beyond to the fields and the village. The guests rooms are accessed at the back of the property and overlook the courtyard, stables and fields to the rear. Parking can be made close to the back door, or at the front of the property. The bedrooms are upstairs accessed by a door to a steep wooden staircase. Guests have use of a private sitting/breakfast room where they can watch TV, make tea or coffee and use a fridge, microwave and toaster. A continental breakfast is provided fresh daily with homemade bread, cereals, yogurt and fruit.
Ellie and her family will provide a warm welcome to their beautiful home. A fully working arable farm, with dogs, horses and sheep, their lives are very much outdoors. They're happy to guide you on places to visit and share their knowledge of the local wildlife too. Homemade bread awaits at breakfast.
Great Ryburgh is a vibrant village with much to offer visitors. Amenities include a community village shop and post office, thriving church and village hall, both hosting regular charity fund raising quiz nights, wine tastings and much more. A playing field, village pub and easy access to cycle routes and buses too. Just 4 miles away is Fakenham Racecourse in one direction and Pensthorpe Wildfowl Park in the other. Fakenham only 5 miles away with many restaurants, a cinema, multiple supermarkets, hair dressers and much more. And you couldn't be more centrally located to explore most of Norfolk from the Broads to the stunning north Norfolk Coast, there's so much on offer.
