This is a homestay property, located within 5 minutes walking distance of Northgate station and 10 minutes from Newark Castle railway station, in the beautiful quintessential English historic market town of Newark-on-Trent, with a traditional market square, Town Hall, castle and gardens, bandstand, and home to the National Civil War Centre. The property is on 3 floors with guest accommodation on the ground floor. I live on the second and third floors with my dog and cat. The property is located on a quiet residential housing estate, with no through traffic, one minutes walking distance from the river Trent with a footpath leading into the town centre, less than 10 minutes away. Clean, bright, airy, stylish, contemporary decor and furnishings. Shared entrance hall leading into the property where guests have sole use of the ground floor, consisting of 1 private double bedroom (single occupancy only unless also booking the small double room, where there will be an additional fee. Please request this when confirmng check in time), 1 private small double room (suitable for one adult only), shower room (please note this is shared with the other guest room), tea/coffee making facilities, fridge are provided in the utility room. Free WiFi. There are two free private parking spaces directly at the front of the property on the drive. The property has good transport links to the A1 and A46. Newark Showground is less than 3 miles away, host to the famous bi-monthly International Antiques and Collectors Fair, and may other events.
I share my home with my dog Tilly and cat Nala, although they won't disturb you as we live on the two floors above. I have lived in Newark for most of my life and know the local area extremely well, therefore able to answer any quesions you may have about local attractions, places to eat/visit etc. I mainly work from home so you may see me around.
A quiet residential area with an abundance of facilities within 2 minutes walking distance, including The Coffee Chain (an independent local coffee shop offering breakfast, sandwiches, cakes), Costa Coffee, M&S Food, Greggs. In the town centre itself, feel free to take full advantage of the many fine bars, independent shops and cafes, and weather permitting, order refreshments alfresco in the market square. Newark offers a rich variety of restaurants to satisfy all tastes (Indian, South Indian, Nepalese, Thai, Chinese, fine dining) or if it's pub grub you fancy, then there are many local establishments serving great quality food. If, however you don't want to venture out, Just Eat will deliver to the door. Newark is host to an annual music, jazz, blues, and food and beer festival, and throughout July and August, you can spend many a lazy Sunday afternoon listening to a local brass band on the traditional bandstand in the castle grounds.
