A magical place full of art and good books. Views of the Howgills from the bathtub. Lovely secure terrace with breathtaking views. Located in the charming hamlet of Millthrop, a gem in the heart of the Dales. Right on the Dalesway!
We are local and available to answer any questions should you need anything at all. A friendly, enthusiastic, well traveled family.
The magical hamlet of Millthrop is home to many wonderful characters. Tucked away in the Howgills but walking distance to the pub, its quiet, open minded, pretty and a place folk return to. Many walkers pass by our cottage and stop to coo at Millthrop as its right on the famous Dales Way. On a sunny day you could almost be somewhere in southern France! The beautiful market town of Sedbergh is a 10min walk, a little hub of books shops, coffee shops, butcher, baker candlestick maker and of course the famous Sedbergh school. We are a half an hour drive from the busy town of Kendal, where you can find everything from TK Max to teashops, cinema, leisure centre and the popular Brewery Arts Centre. The Lake District is a 40min drive away! We are surrounded by incredible walks, cycling routes, fells to walk or run, lakes to swim or sail and an abundance of perfect places to simply sit and think.
