Sheila is really a good person, you noticed it immediately after her warm welcome. I enjoyed every minute of my stay there. Everything is made for the guest to feel at home. It offered all the comfort you can expect, plus a patch of garden.

"Littlebeck" is in the heart of Danby and Ainthorpe villages, in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The spacious flat has its own entrance, * please note there are 2 steps up to the door*, sofa, television, ensuite shower, toilet and patio doors overlooking the garden, village green, trees and lane. We have chosen to decorate the room in a neutral colour, with warm fushia tones in the rug ,blankets and cushions. The bed can be adjusted to twin singles or a king. The nearest place for an evening meal is a quick 5 minute walk up to the Fox and Hounds Pub, which everyone reports back to us is excellent. The beautiful open Moors is just beyond the pub. Our guests enjoy their own small private dining room where you can have breakfast ( full English, Vegetarian or Vegan) if you opt to add breakfast, it overlooks the fields and dry stone walls across the road and valley. Our guests have their own private garden with a bench. * Please note we cannot have dogs staying. * Please note there are 2 steps to the guests main front door.
Jon and I love life in the national park, where sheep grazing freely in the village. There's many walks straight from our front door of Littlebeck to the moors, where we can see curlew, red legged partridge, lapwing and pheasant and lots of rabbits! The nearby fields have a variety of sheep and cattle breeds, our favourites are the Galloway and Highland cattle. At night, its a "dark skies" area, so we love the bright stars, and we often hear owls, and see bats. As a mother and son hosting team, we enjoy looking after our guests, and ensuring they are comfortably relaxing at Littlebeck. Its great to be able to share this amazingly beautiful area with our guests 😊 Best wishes, Jon and Sheila🌷
"LITTLEBECK " is in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The pace of life is slower, and we get 4 seasons in one day as a normal weather pattern!! Sheep wander through the village, please drive carefully as the ewes and lambs can be skittish! Danby Bakery is 5 mins walk, where scrumptious bread, cakes, sandwiches, rolls and drinks can be eaten in or to taken out. The Health Food shop in Danby sells unusual food, toiletries and gifts. Fox and Hounds pub, 5 mins walk up the lane has fabulous reviews, lovely atmosphere, and great food. National park visitor centre opens at 10am usually, is a 25 mins walk away with plenty to do, a cafe and helpful staff. Our local Coop shop is a 5 minute drive or 25 minute walk, away in Castleton. Some lovely sandy beaches are a short 20 mins drive away, like Runswick Bay and Saltburn. Our rural branch line train station at Danby is a 5 min walk and offers 6 trains daily to Whitby harbour, a very attractive vibrant town. In addition, step back to enjoy the steam era, and join a steam train on the North York Moors railway starting at Whitby harbour. ( * please check timetables carefully for any journeys) North Yorkshire Moors is a unique National Park of stunning scenery, whatever the weather . A must see.
