A luxuriously appointed country house set in four acres of private grounds on a secluded peninsula beside Loch Ness. Perfect for admiring atmospheric views and enjoying the peace of the Highlands.

Neighbourhood information

The neighbourhood From the lochside beach at the bottom of the garden there are sheltered moorings where you can launch your kayaks or dinghies. To totally appreciate the sights and sounds of nature at the loch, spend some time down there relaxing and there’s even a fire pit where you can enjoy a BBQ. If you like wildlife, red squirrels and rabbits are often spotted in the garden, while grouse also call the grounds their home. In the winter you might also see deer taking a drink at the edge of the loch. The village of Fort Augustus is about a 10-minute drive away and offers a selection of pubs, restaurants and gift shops. It’s also the location of the Clansman Centre, home to a 19th century Highland turf-house, while the Nessie boat tour also departs from the village. Just past Fort Augustus is a scenic 9-hole golf course. Meanwhile, the village of Drumnadrochit is a 15-minute drive away and is home to the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition, as well as pubs, takeaways, a convenience store and whisky shop. The romantic ruins of 16th century Urquhart Castle are just outside the village.   If you’re looking for a wide selection of shops, clothing outlets, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues including cinemas, head to Inverness which is a 40-minute drive away. Getting around A car is essential for travelling to the property and ease of getting around. It is approximately a 3.5-hour drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh. The nearest train station is Spean Bridge Train Station. The nearest airport is Inverness, about a 1-hour drive away.
