Built in the late 1870s, this imposing Victorian building is set in 3 acres of picturesque countryside only 5 minutes from the town centre of historic Tain. The Mansfield Castle Hotel offers award-winning cuisine and magnificent oak panelling throughout. It is one hour from Inverness Airport, and is positioned in the heart of the Highlands. Mansfield Castle is a perfect venue for weddings, a short break or for golfers. Superior rooms are located in the castle and standard rooms are located in the beautiful garden wing, attached to the castle via a corridor. Pets are welcomed upon request into the standard basis rooms and can accompany their owner at dinner or breakfast in designated areas. All guests are welcome to use the gorgeous residents’ reading lounge.

The Hotel is privately owned and run in conjunction with its sister hotel Morangie Hotel in Tain. Both hotels are just 5 minutes apart by car.

Property information

Built in the late 1870s, this charming Victorian building is set in 3 acres of picturesque countryside only 5 minutes from the town center of the historic burgh of Tain. The Mansfield Castle Hotel offers traditional Scottish and European cuisine all cooked from local fresh supply and a cozy atmospheric bar. Friendly and attentive staff are always there to help. The Castle is located one hour away from the Inverness Airport, and just a few minutes drive away from the worldwide famous Glenmorangie distillery. It is the perfect venue for weddings and functions, short breaks, golf or whisky tours, or club cars tours.

Neighbourhood information

Tain is a small safe town for the whole family. Founded in 1066 it has retained its granite buildings and quaint look. Just 1 hour from Inverness airport, it has rail and bus connections. You can wander at any time if day around its historic streets . We have a number of famous golf courses and distilleries all within a short distance. The local Tain course designed by Old Tom Morris and of course just 10 miles away, the famous Dornoch golf course.
