The Ground Floor Apartment at Marine Lodge is a beautiful , spacious property ideally located on Westgate, North Berwick. It has easy access to the famous North Berwick West Links, shops, cafes, restaurants, beach and railway station. Arrive by car (there is a private parking space at rear), train, bus or even taxi collection from Edinburgh (Airport or Railway station). Your apartment is just a 5 minute walk from the Railway Station and 2 minutes from Abbey Road bus stop. Built from stone in approximately 1865 , Marine Lodge has now a contemporary feel of comfort, space and warmth. It has all the modern facilities and amenities you would hope for. Your ground floor main door access opens via a porch into a Hallway, with its Scottish and Golfing themes. Off this are:- - 2 lovely large bedrooms, with either Super-king or Twin beds in each. - A beautiful, spacious lounge points towards the Forth Sea. In it, 3 settees (2 are bed settees) and a real stove fire (wood supplied). - Stunning walk-in Wet Room; separate bathroom with Bath and Shower o/head. - Beautiful fully appliance kitchen and small sun room. - Private rear courtyard - with dining area - Private Parking Space
My wife (Joanna) and I have visited North Berwick for some 26 years. In fact, I, (Andrew), have been coming to North Berwick for 50 years. When we bought the Ground Floor Apartment, some 8 years ago, we knew instantly that it was not only a super location but could see the potential it had as a holiday home. Over the last few years we have re-invested and developed it into the place many choose to return to year on year. Naturally, we needed some help. In Gordon, we found a friend who has greeted guests from all over the world. He is the epitome of all things Scottish and hospitable. What's more he knows the property better than anyone and is readily on hand to help whenever a guest seeks local advice. Every day we are so grateful for his help. Also as part of the Marine Lodge family, are Lyndsey and Zoe. These two ladies work so hard to ensure the apartment is immaculately clean and that I pay attention to every detail on how to improve and maintain it. Again we are so lucky to have them. Joanna and I love the outdoors, we love walks, swimming, keeping fit - yes and even golf (sorry, Mark Twain !). Marine Lodge matters hugely to us. We want every guest to have a great time !
North Berwick's appeal is timeless. I have known it man and boy, and it always fills my heart with joy. The area is renowned for its beautiful scenery, golf courses, history and walks. It has managed to acknowledge its past yet remain contemporary. In addition to its stunning beaches and world renowned golf courses, North Berwick and East Lothian are blessed by a fantastic micro-climate, which largely means drier and warmer weather than inland. It's coastal views are unique as Bass Rock, Craig Leith, Lamb and Fidra provide the focus. Boat trips can be taken to any of these islands. The Law Calder stands proudly guarding the little quaint town which splits east and west of its harbour. Enjoy its beaches, castles - Dirleton and Tantallon and fresh air and great food. Couples and families love it. There are great restaurants, shops and bars and cafes - from Osteria to The Herringbone, The Orangerie to the Lobster Shack. Bass Rock and World Famous Bird Sanctuary dominates the Forth to North Sea gateway. North Berwick will help you create great memories. North Berwick is only 34 minutes by train to Edinburgh, Scotland's capital and is a great place all year round.
