    A lovely, bright, airy flat in an excellent position, very close to the centre of the town with easy parking. The flat was equipped with everything you could want and was scrupulously clean.

Jedburgh is on the A68 road which connects Edinburgh (47 miles) to Newcastle Upon Tyne (57 miles). Jedburgh lies on the Jed Water, a tributary of the River Teviot. It is 10 miles from the border with England, and is dominated by the substantial ruins of Jedburgh Abbey. Other notable buildings in the town include Mary Queen of Scots House, (30 mts from apartment), Jedburgh Castle and Jail, now a museum, and the Jedburgh Library. The apartment has a living room, kitchen, bath/shower room and a double bedroom. There is free WIFI, a TV, DVD player, a kitchen with oven and microwave and a cupboard with a washer/drier. Towels and bedding are provided. Please note:- This property is on the second floor of the building and is only accessible by two flights of stairs. Jedburgh High Street, with its shops, bars, cafes and restaurants is a two minute walk from the property. The abbey and castle and jail are within a two minute drive or fifteen minute walk. There are two supermarkets within five minutes walk.
We live in the town and are always on hand to resolve any problems which may arise.
Jedburgh is an historic town and lies on the Jed Water, a tributary of the river Teviot. It is 10 miles from the border with England and is dominated by the substantial ruins of Jedburgh Abbey. Newcastle Upon Tyne is 58 miles to the south and Edinburgh is 48 miles to the north. The abbey dates from 1154 and many of the more important finds from excavations are displayed on site in the modern visitor centre attached to the Abbey ruins. Much damaged over the years, especially by invasions from England, is still one of the finest late Norman buildings remaining in Scotland. Now roofless, part of the church was used as the parish church into the 19th century. Jedburgh Castle and Jail sits on a hill overlooking the town. The castle was fought over during the wars of Scottish Independence and was demolished by the Scots in 1409. The site of the original castle was used to build the reform prison, the construction of which started in 1820. Entry is free. Mary Queen of Scots House is a listed sixteenth century building where Mary Queen of Scots stayed in 1566. The building has been open to the public as a museum since 1930 and entry is free. It is 30 metres from the flats.
