We are a small local holiday let company that has lived in the area for over twenty years. We love where we live and we can be found, cycling, running or walking along the lovely beaches that dot our coast, enjoying the quiet lanes on our bicycles or running on the trails. We love supporting local events and can share our local secrets if looking for something different, to enjoying local one day courses with local artists, birdwatching trips at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, or wine tasting at one of the many vineyards that are located in the 1066 area. Our aim is to offer a truly personal service to make your stay at one of our holiday cottages as relaxing as we possibly can. Any queries or issues you may have during your stay, we are here to help. Special occasion, need help planning your surprise, we know the best florists, bakers and restaurants to book, just ask. Jacqui has worked in the hospitality sector for over twenty years and she can't wait to welcome you to the cottages and apartments that we manage.

Property information

Matchbox is a beautiful listed cottage in the heart of Winchelsea, overlooking the stunning church. The whole cottage has been finished to a high standard. A fully equipped galley kitchen, open plan lounge/diner and separate TV snug. Upstairs you have two king size bedrooms with views towards the church and each with their own bath/shower room. A small decked enclosed courtyard, perfect for a morning coffee or storing bicycles. One well behaved dog allowed for a small fee. We only allow children aged 8 and over due to the narrow, steep staircases. Parking is on the street and usually directly outside the cottage. The property is located on the high street so there may be some road noise at certain times of the day. The decked courtyard is shared with a neighbour but with clear designated space.

Neighbourhood information

Winchelsea is a pretty medieval town with chocolate box cottages and stunning countryside. The village has a local store which serves takeaway coffee and local produce, a pub and the local church. The churchyard is the last resting place of comedian Spike Milligan. There are beautiful 1066 trails only minutes from the property and lovely challenging cycle routes for those bringing bikes. Rye is only 3 miles away with a great selection of independent restaurants, cafes and take away outlets.
