Mill House Steading is a contemporary conversion of a Historic barn into a 2 bedroom architect designed home. The balcony overlooks the burn with views across the Sound of Mull to Tobermory. The renovation was completed in March 2020 and provides stunning accomodation. Follow us on instagram at thesteading.millhouse. There is a regular ferry to mull from Lochaline. There are 2 Bedrooms, Kitchen, Dining room and Bathroom with the top floor given over to a lounge and Snug with amazing views to Mull and Benmore. The property has underfloor heating, electric oven, Hob, fridge freezer, washing machine and Dishwasher. There is a community broadband which will stream most media to a SMART TV.. The Balcony will looks out from the kitchen to the orchard and river. (our swimming pool!) There is a king size bed and 2 fully sprung singles which convert to another king size For larger parties we have a double ensuite annexe adjacent to Mill house for occasional use. We are wheelchair user frie
We have lived in Drimnin for the last 5 years and spent the first 2 converting our ancient steading (where the village celidh was held many years ago) into a contemporary holiday let that retains the buildings character with stunning views over the Sound of Mull and beyond. The original building and bridge in the garden are thought to be from a Thomas Telford standard pattern used when he was contracted to open up the transport infrastructure on the West Coast. We love it here and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. We also look forward to meeting you and sharing this beautiful remote paradise. The Supermarkets in Oban and Fort William are both well stocked and provide click and collect. Morrisons deliver to us and Tesco in Oban will also provide a delivery service to Lochaline ferry terminal. The village shop in Lochaline also provides a daily delivery service. and both estates have stocks of beef, Lamb and Venison.
It is a 2 minute walk to the sea and 11 miles to the nearest shop and Pub . Otters are regular visitors to the burn as are Red Deer and wildcats. There are nesting pairs of Sea eagles all along the coast and a pair of Golden Eagles on the peninsula. The house is well located for walking, bird-watching, cycling, fishing, sailing and kayaking. The village of Lochaline is 10 miles along the road and has a well appointed shop, The award winning Whitehouse Restaurant, The O2 cafe for light lunches and snacks, The Lochaline Hotel for evening meals and drinks, Lochaline social club where a pint can be enjoyed either in the bar or outside in the sunshine. The snack bar is also open during the day. The Calmac ferry runs a frequent daily service to Mull where there are plenty of options for a day out. Drimnin is an excellent base for exploring both Mull with all its attractions , and the beautiful hills of Morvern.
