Milos Retreat is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are walks in every direction from the doorstep. The property is in a quiet location on a country Lane surrounded by fields & open countryside. A 15 minute walk will take you to the estuary & beach a further minute walk and you will be in the lovely coastal village of Arnside which has a small selection of shops, cafes, pubs and a lovely coastal walk. Further afield is the beautiful village of Cartmel home of the famous sticky toffee pudding, Newby Bridge where you can hop on a steamer and cruise across Lake Windermere or visit Kirkby Lonsdale to enjoy a river walk, lovely shops, bars & restaurants. One of our favourite places is Grange over sands which is easily reached by taking the train from Arnside across the estuary. The Yorkshire Dales can be easily reached from the cottage & Bowness on Windermere is a 30 minute drive. The cottage has a great selection of books, maps and information on local walks and activities.
